Beginning Hoopdance Class

In the beginning level classes you will learn the fundamental moves of hoopdance that will allow you to build a solid foundation for the dance form. You’ll learn beautiful moves, build your skills, and start learning how to actually dance with the hoop! All the while, you’ll be toning your abs, back, arms, hips, buns and legs, strengthening and opening your upper back and chest, increasing balance and getting a cardio workout!
Intermediate Prerequisites:
Intermediate students must have taken 10 beginning classes and/or be proficient in basic hooping skills such as: waist and hip hooping in both currents, lifting and lowering the hoop with either hand, forward and backward weaves, halo, passing, chest and shoulder hooping, walking/dancing with the hoop.
Intermediate Hoopdance Class
In this class we will take hooping to the next level. We will explore leg hooping, sustained spinning, spirals, vortexes, tosses, rolls, angles (shoulders and hips), and transitions between all hooping tricks/moves. We will also incorporate dance-theory elements to expand our hooping repertoire to its fullest. Utilizing out knowledge to date, we will work “in flow” to create our own individual style and a fluidity of movement.
